Chaplain Resident at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center
The Chaplain Resident position provides temporary employment in the Spiritual Care Departments of Providence ministries in Southern California for qualified persons enrolled in Providence Health & Services—Southern California Region's full-time Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program. Before employment, Chaplain Residents must first apply for, and be accepted into, that CPE program. Chaplain Residents must successfully complete consecutive CPE units and continue participation in the CPE program in order to continue qualifying for employment as Chaplain Residents. Second year residents who are accepted for specialized training will have already completed a first year residency (four units of CPE).
Bachelor's Degree for a first year residency: Degree, with additional graduate theological education
Master's Degree for a second year residency: Degree in theology or pastoral care, plus four units of completed CPE
Driver’s licensure and access to an automobile for driving while on-call
Master's Degree for a first year residency: Degree in Divinity, theology, pastoral care. Or equivalent educ/experience
For a first year residency: One completed unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)

Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center is a 245-bed not-for-profit medical center that serves the San Fernando Valley, offering high quality specialty services, including: heart and vascular care, orthopedics, oncology and senior services. Recognizing the special health care needs of women and children, our Women’s Pavilion & Resource Center provides women’s health and maternity care in once central location. The hospital specializes in pediatrics and has one of the largest neonatal intensive care units in the San Fernando Valley.
