Providence is calling a Director of Nursing (Full time/Day shift) to Providence Little Company Of Mary Torrance Hospital in Torrance, CA.

We are seeking a Director of Nursing who will administer the managerial functions of setting objectives, planning, staffing, and directing activities of assigned departments/areas of responsibility. The position oversees Surgery, Sterile Processing, PACU,, GI Lab, Interventional Radiology and Cath Lab.
In this position you will:
Initiate or recommend, in collaboration with managers/supervisors, staffing standards and staff selection. Develop standards of performance, evaluate performance, and initiate or make recommendations for personnel actions
Develop goals and objectives/develop and implement policies and procedures for operations and maintains established improving organization performance program, patient/customer safety, environmental, and infection control standards
Develop budget for the division and allocates funds within budget to accomplish objectives. Monitor variance against budget. Review all requests for capital expense items and submits to Operations
Direct the preparation and maintenance of reports. Prepare periodic reports for top management, as required
Consult with and advise the Executive Director of problems related to the operation of the hospital/department; recommend changes in administrative policies to carry out objectives more effectively
Develop, monitor, and evaluate program development to include financial, marketing, human resource, ethics, and community needs
Provide and maintain effective communications with medical staff, the community, and all levels of supervision and staff
Ensure the departments/areas comply with regulatory requirements
Identify patient/client needs and develop quality programs to meet those needs. Ensure delivery of safe quality services for inpatient/outpatients and all customers
Analyze and evaluate clinical services to improve quality of patient care and plan efficient use of staff time
Develop and determine priorities and monitor status of special projects as needed
Participate/identify strategic issues impacting the organization and the operating implications
Serve as a coach and mentor to direct reports
Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise
Participate in hospital/medical staff committee meetings as required. Attend and serve on professional/civic service organizations as a representative, and conducts/attends departmental meetings
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree MHA / MBA / MSN in hospital administration, or healthcare administration or specialty field or in process
Bachelor's in Nursing
California State Registered Nurse License
2 years management experience in a large hospital/health care environment ˃250 beds
Strong knowledge base in specialty area assigned
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
CNOR or CPAN Certification or equivalent
5 years Perioperative/Operating Room administrative experience in large hospital
