Providence Pharmacy Buyer in Torrance, California
Providence is calling an Pharmacy Buyer (Full time/Day shift) to Providence Little Company Of Mary San Pedro Hospital in San Pedro, CA.
We are seeking a Pharmacy Buyer who will order and monitor inventory of medications and supplies in a cost effective manner.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Areas of Emphasis:
Ensure cost effective purchasing of medications
Maintain medications stock levels to established par levels
Purchase medications for the main hospital and its outside ancillary sites
Inform pharmacy staff of medication updates as soon as they are received.
Monitor drug recalls and errant invoices
Control drug ordering and returns per policy
Meet with vendor representatives
Stock IV shelves daily
Manage 340B accounts: Purchase all eligible products
Maintain confidentiality of all patient and hospital related information
Demonstrate working knowledge of the Hospital Information System and Pharmacy component
Utilize computer based communications and data base system
Comply with all regulatory agency requirements including State Board of Pharmacy and Department of Health and Services, including maintaining drug purchase records
Proficient with the 340B Software Program
Perform drug purchasing activities in a team environment
Seek assistance immediately if unable to solve the problem on own
Assist with orientation of new employees as assigned
Provide input to development and revision of policies and procedures
Promote harmonious relationships and favorable attitudes amongst the Health Care Team
Direct stock clerk
Required qualifications for this position incude:
Education sufficient for license
Current California State Pharmacy Technician license
1 year pharmacy or material procurement experience
Requires ability to operate personal computer and calculator
