We are seeking a Rehabilitation Tech who will support the mission, vision, values and objectives of Providence Little Company of Mary. The Rehabilitation Tech functions under the direct supervision of the licensed therapists. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing and cleaning treatment areas, transporting and positioning patients, procurement of inventory/supplies and assists therapists, and assistants in the completion of the patient treatment plan. The Rehab Tech may also be assigned routine clerical support tasks to support the patient care process. These functions are carried out according to hospital and departmental policies and procedures. The Rehab Tech demonstrates professional communication and interpersonal skills including direct, honest and compassionate behavior.
In this position you will:
Comply with hospital, department and unit standards including safety, infection control, quality management, confidentiality, mandatory education and competencies
Facilitate teamwork and effective communication by participating in an environment characterized by the values of Providence
Practice in a professional, collaborative and proactive manner in all interactions with patients, visitors, physicians and caregivers
Demonstrate flexibility adjusting to changes in patient acuity and workload
Participate in committees and special projects as assigned
Identify risk management issues, takes appropriate action and communicates unresolved issues through appropriate channels
Float to areas within their scope of practice as necessary. These include Acute/Inpatient, Sub-Acute Unit (TCC/SACC), TCU, and Outpatient Clinic
Participate in the provision of care:
Demonstrate applied knowledge when caring for selected patient populations including care appropriate to the age of patient served
Implement specified portions of the treatment plan and demonstrate competency in procedures under the direct supervision of the therapist
Participate in educational programs, in-services and department meetings
Practice stewardship in the delivery of care reflecting financial goals of the organization
Use available resources effectively
Demonstrate understanding of overall unit needs and uses downtime to assist others
Prioritize commitments and manages multiple tasks efficiently
Demonstrate performance responsibility and accountability
Attendance and punctuality
Comply with department minimum shift and time off procedures
Provide positive customer service, compassionate care and effective teamwork
Obtain necessary knowledge and skill needed to maintain competency, including working knowledge of the electronic medical system
Complete mandatory requirements including HealthStreams and BLD
Meet regulatory compliance standards (e.g. Joint Commission, Title 22, CMS, CDPH, CARF and HIPAA)
Perform non-patient related tasks that are essential to departmental operations. These activities include, but are not limited to, clerical tasks, equipment cleaning, supply ordering, temperature logs, inventory, and assist with special projects
Perform other duties assigned or requested
Meet all orientation and annual skill competencies
Participate in organizational and departmental performance improvement projects
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current BLS/RQI certificate through the American Heart Association
Requires understanding of Rehab services goals and objectives
Requires good working knowledge of general and specialized clinical equipment
Requires ability to organize and prioritize work, completes assignments on time
Requires ability to establish and maintain a courteous and cooperative working relationship with patients, families and coworkers
Requires the ability to work effectively with a team
Proficient communication skills
Basic computer skills
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience in acute hospital setting
Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training
