Providence Health & Services Field RN/Intake Coordinator in Tukwila, Washington


Providence is calling a Field RN/Intake Coordinator for a job share opportunity with Providence Infusion and Pharmacy Services supporting S. King County, Pierce and Thurston areas.

An ideal candidate will be able to work up to 5 days/week depending on whether you are in the field or doing triage work.

In the Field RN/Intake Coordinator Job Share position you will:

  • Provide direct nursing services and case management related to infusion therapy for patients in the home, clinic or an alternate living site. This is accomplished through collaboration with the patient and/or caregiver, the physician, other health care providers and the payer.

  • Responsible for patient assessment, troubleshooting line and pump complications, and pump reprogramming over the phone

  • Be responsible for collecting and reviewing clinical information in order to ascertain appropriate services for the referred individual.

  • Assist patients, referral sources and any other callers with infusion services.

  • Facilitate the coordination of services with patients, from the initial referral through the duration of therapy and discharge from infusion services.

  • Admit and educates patients/caregivers in all infusion therapies.

  • Function as a professional role model by demonstrating competency in all phases of the nursing process, collaborating with other health care workers to promote quality patient care, and acting as a resource for home care nursing staff for patients with infusion home care needs.

  • Practices nursing by following Providence Infusion’s policies and procedures and the Washington State Nurse Practice Act.

  • Participates in the development of an efficient and cost-effective nursing department.

  • Serve as a member of the infusion team, responding to incoming referrals and informational calls regarding outpatient and home infusion services.

  • Act as a communication link between Providence Infusion Pharmacy (PIPS), clinicians, patients, families and physicians by creating a user-friendly point of entry to discuss questions, problems or concerns throughout the continuum of care


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Washington State

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Current Washington State driver’s license and insured, reliable vehicle

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)

  • Current Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience

  • One year home infusion experience and/or ICU experience

  • Recent hands-on experience with peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) lines, ports, venipuncture, and various central venous access devices (CVAD)

  • Strong patient advocate/communication skills

  • Experienced with Microsoft Office programs
