Providence Pharmacy Technician- PIHS Sterile Compounding in Tukwila, Washington
Providence is calling a Pharmacy Technician (PIHS Sterile Compounding, Day Shift, 1 FTE) to Providence Infusion and Pharmacy Services in Tukwila, Washington. In this position you will:
Perform batch sterile compounding in an ISO7 classified cleanroom wearing sterile garb, following designated workflows and using appropriate aseptic technique.
Adhere to sterile garbing procedures, aseptic practices, clean room conduct, USP 797 standards, and FDA cGMP-503b regulations.
Prepare materials to be transferred into compounding areas by unboxing and removing overwrap, sanitizing items by wiping with an appropriate agent per standard procedure (a sporicidal agent, sterile isopropyl alcohol 70%, or both) and placing in designated totes.
Gather and verify scan batching components and supplies according to the batch record.
Clean equipment, the sterile compounding environments, and associated areas daily, weekly, and monthly following the SOP using the designated cleaning agents.
Visually inspect, label and package final product for storage.
Calibrate and operate automated compounding equipment per standard procedures.
Meet production standards, ensuring completion of assigned batch within the timeline established for the batch.
Print labels associated with each batch (e.g. product labels, container labels, pool bag labels).
Complete documentation timely and accurately as required by standard operating procedures and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Ensure samples for quality analytics are prepared and delivered to the designated area/locations (e.g. reserve samples, samples for final release testing).
Order fulfilment and deliveries for facilities: Creates packing slip, generates work order and delivery ticket, picks ordered items, boxes order for shipping according to delivery method and special requirements (“timed” or “signature required” conditions).
Maintains stock of shipping materials and supplies, including assembling boxes and restocking freezer with gel ice packs.
Processes delivery tickets after delivery confirmation for tracking documentation and to ensure proper billing.
Monitors and confirms CII shipment receipt as required by DEA regulations and updates in log books.
Operate computer equipment and applications for monitoring and documenting activities, as appropriate (for example: ConsortiEx IV Workflow Management system, WebCTRL temperature and pressure monitoring, Simplifi797 equipment and cleaning logs, Sharepoint, PIHS Distribution software, Excel, Outlook, Lync, and Fax/Scanning).
Monitor ingredient and supply inventory, advising purchasing on inventory status.
Monitor beyond use date (BUD) and expiration date of final product and supplies, preventing unnecessary product waste.
Perform tasks in a manner consistent with the safety policies, quality systems, and cGMP-503b requirements.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of approved pharmacy technician training program
Current certification and license by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician
Current National Pharmacy Technician certification, or within 6 months upon hire
Independently have the ability to regularly lift, push and/or pull items with an average weight of 35 lbs
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Hospital Experience in sterile product preparation
