Providence is calling a Housekeeper (Environmental Services, Variable, 1.0 FTE) to Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
We are offering a $750 sign on bonus for full time Housekeepers who not currently working for Providence or one of our affiliates.
$500 to be paid out on your first paycheck with the remaining $250 paid out at 12 months of employment.
Repayment would be required based on a prorated amount if you do not complete the minimum retention requirement.*
This sign on bonus is available on Full Time offers (1.0 FTE) accepted after 3/24/2021.
In this position you will:

Actively participate in departmental and organization performance improvement activities in accordance with hospital and joint commission standards.

Participate in hospital and department specific practices to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff.
Maintain the security and confidentiality of data and information used in performance of his/her daily duties conforming to hospital policy, laws and regulations as appropriate.
Follow established policies and procedures to identify and reduce the risks of acquiring or transmitting infection.
Maintain positive working relationships and fosters a cooperative work environment.
Communicate clearly and appropriately using age specific standards with patients and families of patients.
Communicate in a professional and appropriate manner when interacting with colleagues, supervisors, peers, physicians, etc. Friendly, positive customer relations required.
Provide clear, concise, pertinent reports/information.
Perform all phases of department responsibilities according to established procedures and time frames as assigned by supervisor. Duties may include: cleaning of restrooms, offices, exam rooms, public areas, patient rooms, surgery rooms, entrances, waste removal, biohazards waste removal, recycled materials removal, wall washing, window cleaning, cleaning of furniture and furnishings, carpet vacuuming, carpet deep cleaning, hard floor mopping and/or refinishing, dusting, moving furniture and supplies, meeting room set up, linen delivery, soiled linen pick up, and other duties as assigned.
Perform duties at a level of quality that meets or exceeds established standards.
Amount of work properly completed meets or exceeds established rates of productivity.
Operate equipment in a proper, safe and efficient manner. Cleans and returns the equipment to the proper location after each use.
Perform duties in a safe and prudent manner. Safely uses ladders, tools, and equipment. Uses chemicals according to manufacturer’s instructions as to dilutions, proper application and safety precautions. Strives to provide a safe environment for others.
Maintain confidentiality when in areas with sensitive information, or when disposing of sensitive information.
JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
Initiate and participate in weekly QA inspections.
Follow applicable dress codes.
Promptly reports items needing repair to the Facilities Department.
Employee completes all tasks and duties accurately and timely within assigned shift. Demonstrates initiative to perform job duties autonomously.
Attend mandatory and other education offerings per department and hospital requirements. May assist with education on the unit.
Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Preferred qualification for this position include:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
